State Approved Activity Coordinator Training Program

The State Approved Activity Coordinator Training Program sponsored by the South Dakota Health Care Association is designed for individuals with primary responsibility for the activity program in a long-term care facility. This program addresses the medical, physical, psychosocial, spiritual, and environmental needs of long-term care residents in nursing facilities and assisted living facilities to promote and enhance their quality of life and individuality. The program is 120 hours in length and consists of four main modules. There is a classroom portion which the individual must complete and this is only offered in October. The individual has one year to complete all the components of the state-approved activity coordinator training program to become a qualified activity coordinator. For more information or to register for the program, please contact Lori Tracy or call 800-952-3052.
